OWNERS: MIKE & MARGARET SNOW

It was a brainstorm that came from my roots growing up as part of an Oklahoma farm family operation that ingrained in me a particular love for the kind of lifestyle I grew up experiencing. I truly think there is something about the love of country life often passed through the bloodstream and probably was in my case.

I have always continued to live sort of a self-sustaining lifestyle that I learned and loved even when a successful career has taken me in other directions.

My husband Mike and I returned to the family farm several years ago and he has been the perfect person to share this heritage with.  We are happily content living a simple lifestyle that brings joy without the modern-day clutter.

We love sharing our love of country living through our little country store and partnering with family.  We are proud to bring an annual fall festival that transforms our home base into a fun destination for friends and family in the entire area and miles beyond.

Want to know more about Oklahoma Heritage Farm? Here's the story.....

Hello, I am Margaret Snow and several years ago an idea of mine came to fruition when the Oklahoma Heritage Store opened. It was a brainstorm that came from my roots growing up as part of an Oklahoma family farm operation that ingrained in me a particular love for the kind of lifestyle I grew up experiencing. I truly think there is something about the love of country life often passed through the bloodstream and probably was in my case. Now, five generations have tilled the ground on some part of the farm.

Basically, I have always continued to live a country lifestyle that I learned and loved growing up on the farm.  When my husband Mike and I were married that was the perfect fit for us even though a successful career took me in many directions.  It was a career that gave me the opportunity to use my God given talents and work in a field that I loved but also exposed the emptiness of many materialistic lifestyles.

It was the return to a small portion of the old farm where I was born and raised that gave way to the idea of a country store right on the farm.  The plan took roots and the store was a place that sold homegrown produce, old fashioned tasty treats, handmade items, and gifts depicting the heritage of Oklahoma. Sadly, after a few years of operation, family obligations and other needs gave way to a reluctant decision to close the store. Through a lot of prayer and reconstruction of the original format, my husband Mike and I reopened our facility on the farm under the name "Oklahoma Heritage Farm" in the spring of 2015. The new store is a little different format but basically the same theme as before while we expanded to utilize our entire property. As an added attraction, we started an annual Fall Festival that has become a destination for families and friends alike as they enjoy some good old wholesome outdoor fun. The festival is both fun and an educational experience. We are extremely excited that the festival has been a great addition to our daily operations throughout the year.

Today there is a lot of interest in this self-sustaining lifestyle that we have always lived.  It may be a bit of a fad for some, but possibly there is also a timely reason for that interest. So, who better to bring the joy of living this simple, uncluttered, and fulfilling lifestyle to others, than a team like my husband and I who are the "real deal" when it comes to first-hand knowledge and experience? Those folks that know us well are sure to know that this is and always has been, "Just a Way of life" for us. From Oklahoma to the mountains of Colorado and back to Oklahoma, you could say our lifestyle has been a choice and pretty much a novelty to many around us.

My career depended on wonderful and successful people that gave me the pleasure of working in many beautiful homes, visualizing and creating in every style from traditional to ultra-modern, but I always walked away from them without envy. In my mind, folks should be envious of my choice to live a quiet uncluttered life where every sunrise, sunset, and season are meaningful and things like the sun and rain are recognized as rich blessings.

Mike & I always love sharing with others God's blessings through the joy we find by living a simpler lifestyle in a modern world.
